Brendan Wharton, a 29-year-old man from the Ottawa area, tragically passed away on June 28th, 2025, after being involved in a devastating vehicle collision while on his way to spend time with his family for the holiday weekend.
What should have been a joyous reunion with his parents and siblings turned into an unimaginable loss for the Wharton family.
Brendan was known for his loving, carefree nature and his ability to make those around him laugh. His family recalls his deep love for them, which he never hesitated to express. Brendan was a talented barber and drummer, and his love for the Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Eagles was well-known among his friends and family.
He leaves behind his parents, Rick and Lorelei Wharton, his sister Sarah, his brother Josh, and his niece Naomi. His unexpected passing has left a profound hole in the hearts of his loved ones.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help the Wharton family with funeral expenses, grief therapy, and supporting Josh’s university education.
"Brendan will be deeply missed, but his spirit and memory will live on in all of us," said a close friend in a tribute on social media.
